How to Capitalize on Your Company’s Anniversary

Celebrating a corporate anniversary can be a powerful marketing tool. Whether your company is turning 1, 5 or 75, the fact that you’re in business and thriving is a big accomplishment.

Creating an anniversary marketing program will help build credibility, highlight your history, and promote your expertise, as well as recognize and re-energize your own workforce.

We’ve put together our top ideas to celebrate and capitalize on this major milestone with a promotional marketing program.

  1. Brand it.
    Create a logo and tag or theme line. You can insert these anniversary messages into employees’ email signatures, letterhead, and promotional materials to celebrate year round. Use these brand elements throughout your campaign to generate awareness and develop a consistent look.
  2. Make some visuals.
    Design an infographic. Infographics are used to highlight impressive stats, key facts and milestones in an interesting and visual way. This can be anything from an icon to a timeline to an animated .gif. They can be used on your website, in a promotional email or through your social media channels. Get creative and see what your history has to offer.
  3. Utilize the web.
    Develop a landing page on your website. Whether it’s used as a splash page for an email campaign or a call-out from the homepage, an anniversary landing page is a great way to highlight your company’s longevity and major milestones. You can present a gallery of team photos from over the years, create a video or transcript of a Q&A/roundtable interview with your founders and leadership team, or feature an infographic of impressive stats on the page.   4. Hit their inbox.
    Send a promotional email. Put together an email blast to your clients, prospects and influencers to let them know about your milestone. Not only is it another way to keep your business top-of-mind for your contacts, but also it’s a great way to highlight your benefits and any anniversary-related promotions or events. Link the email to your landing page and feature your Infographic to build upon your cohesive campaign.
  5. Get the word out.
    Build a social media tool kit. Generate some anniversary graphics that can be re-sized for banner ads, Facebook and Instagram posts, and LinkedIn headers. Then, link them all to your anniversary landing page. Write a press release announcing the event and share that with your networks. Social media is a fun way to get your employees involved as well – ask them to share and promote your posts to start a larger conversation.
  6. Make it an event.
    Celebrate your success with an anniversary event. Anniversaries are a perfect time to give back to the community in a real way. Invite your employees to volunteer in a coordinated event to celebrate the company’s milestone or throw a Customer Appreciation party for your team and clients. Let the media know it’s happening – it’s great publicity and great for morale.
